Loko iʻa workday at ʻAimakapā (Hawaiʻi)

February 10, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Free

We hope you can join us on Saturday, February 10th, as we put our hands to the ‘āina to mālama ‘Aimakapā.

________________________________

Work at ‘Aimakapā Fishpond will begin at 8am and last until just before lunch.  Light snacks will be provided but please bring any extra food or snacks you may want.

Please meet us at the Visitor Center at 8am for introductions and a safety briefing.

For this workday, we are excited to continue with our second out-planting of native wetland plants at ‘Aimakapā.  Other potential work will involve hand removal of non-native invasive vegetation from the dryland areas surrounding the south shore of the fishpond.

Close-toed shoes are required for work at the fishpond.  If you have tabis please bring them.  Also, sturdy thorn proof shoes are recommended as we may be working in and around kiawe thorns.  A hat, sunscreen, long sleeve shirt and long pants are recommended.  Water, tools, and gloves will be provided.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend.  Mahalo!
