Loko Ea Lā Hana (Workday)

November 15, 2014 @ 7:45 am - 1:30 pm

As we gear up for Makahiki season, our Loko Ea team is reminded how important it is to prepare the fishpond for the winter weather and surf. Our workday goals for this month are to hoʻopaʻa (stabilize and strengthen) our kuapā (rock wall), deepen/clean the mākāhā and cut/remove california grass from the banks.
RSVPs are required for every individual attending this workday.  Please fill out a form for every participant (including keiki). This will help to determine the work projects and the amount of tools, supplies and food that is needed.

Also, if you are a part of a group larger than 10 participants, please email info@lokoea.org to RSVP. Once the online waiver no longer accepts responses, that means we have reached our full capacity for our workday.

Supplies youʻll need:
“‘Aina Clothes” (Clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty)- long sleeve shirts are recommended when working with the grass
Refillable water bottle
Sunscreen (environmentally safe brands are much appreciated)
Extra clothes & towel
**Mess Kit- Reusable tableware (plate, fork etc.)

**Mālama Loko Ea is trying to emit less plastic ʻōpala, so we will be serving lunch on the reusable plates that we ask you to bring. Mahalo for your kākoʻo (support) in being a more “green” community site. We also accept and appreciate any donations to our morning refreshment and lunch table. If you have any extra fruits or veggies from your garden, feel free to bring some to share.

Things weʻll provide:
Lunch from Paʻalaʻakai Market
Ice water to refill bottles
Gloves and tabis, but feel free to bring your personal ones.
Ample amount of gratitude for your help with our workday!
